Kimberly 'Billierose' Stevenot is a Northern Sierran Mewuk basket weaver, and artist. Billie is the fifth
generation of documented basket weavers from her family. She is a founding board member of the
California Indian Basket Weavers Association, an organization dedicated to preserve, promote and
perpetuate California Indian basket weaving. Billie spoke about basket weaving techniques and materials
used by the Mewuk as well as issues that concern California Indian basket weavers and the environment.
